RADIO SCOTLAND - Carrick Folk Four Thistle TM90 (1965).A tribute song about Radio Scotland, by this folk group comprising lead singer George Stevenson, his brother William and Eric Arnold. George Stevenson, became a solo artist following the break up of the group in 1969, you can hear clips of his songs made since then at www.scottstevens.co.uk (Scott Stevens being his new stage name).

RNI BIG 6 - Judge Dread A specially recorded tribute by Judge Dread to thank Radio Northsea International for playing his records. Most other radio stations had banned the Judge's rude reggae songs, but RNI played Big Six Big Shot BI608 (1972) which reached no. 11 in the UK charts in August 1972. The follow up Big 7 Big Shot BI613 (1972) charted at no. 9, again thanks to help from RNI.
ROBBIE - Peter and his Rockets Philips 6012 444 (NL.1974). This song about Veronica deejay Rob Out, is the B side of Prima Donna. The limited edition single was also available in French.
ROCK N'ROLL - Status Quo
Vertigo Quo 6 (1980), Vertigo Quo JB6. Contains the line "waiting all the
time to find, radio plays on Caroline". The French release has a picture
cover of the group. Like "Caroline", it can also be found on several
of the groups compilations.
SAILING FOR THE PEACE - Sabby This song by the Israeli singer mentions the Voice of Peace (release details required)
SWEET RADIO CAROLINE - Maudy, Mieke and Free Radio Band SMC 100006 (NL.undated). An EP which features a Dutch version of the Neil Diamond song "Sweet Caroline" and "Mokum TV Tune" (pirate TV) as the second track on the A side, the B side features "Delmare Tune" and "Kanaaltje Q" by the same group.
SWEET RADIO CAROLINE - Popgroep DUS met Mieke en Maudy SMC 100008 (NL.undated). The A side as above, the B side features "Delmare Tune" and Delmare jingles.
SYLVAIN - Paul Severs Gnome 3775 (B.1982) A song about Radio Mi Amigo boss Sylvain Tack, the flipside is "Hij was een arme vissersknaap".

wag commented "they're releasing the Christmas records early this
year". Tony Blackburn, to his credit, played the song on a couple of
occasions.

Track on LP We Love the Pirate Stations Philips 9199236 (NL.1977) A tribute to
Radio Veronica and the Dutch offshore stations closure, based on Don McLeans
epic American Pie United Artists UP35325 (1972). The song was specially
recorded for the VOO TV programme "The Day the Music died", Don McLean
reportedly would not gives permission to release the song as a single.

VERONICA VRIJ - Ben Cramer Elf Provincien 6805 (NL.1973). The flipside is "Aan het mooie Noordzeestrand". Inside the sleeve was a letter from Ben inviting people to come to the rally in the Hague on 18th April 1973, in support of Radio Veronica.

VOOR DE OVERLEVENDEN - Kabaret voor de overlevenden Imperial (NL.1973). After Radio Veronica grounded on Scheveningen beach, this song lists all the stations deejays over a melancoly organ version of "The Victory" - the B side of Tom Clay's Abraham Martin and John.
WELCOME CAROLINE - Trio Frans Landmeier & Selma 6 Chesterfield Gardens SMC 100010 (NL.1974) A Dutch single, that used the song Caroline by a cover of the song Caroline by Arvingara, with different words. The single cover is titled Caroline 20 years of Independent Broadcasting. The B side features a brief station history.
WE LOVE THE PIRATE STATIONS - Dutch Beat College Imperial H710 (NL.1966) A version of the Roaring Sixties track, sung in English with a Dutch accent.
WE LOVE THE PIRATES - The Roaring Sixties Marmalade 598001 (1966). Marketed through Polydor the record failed to make chart impact despite much airplay on the offshore most prized offshore radio record of all time on its original label and is now very rare and highly collectable. The release was also the first on the sixties Marmalade label giving it collectors appeal outside of offshore radio enthusiasts, if you are lucky enough to find a copy expect to pay about £30 for it. The Roaring Sixties better known as the Ivy League, also recorded as The Flowerpot Men, White Plains and First Class. "We Love The Pirates" features a guy named Steve Priest on backing vocals. Steve went on to play bass and sing with 70's glam rock stars Sweet who had many hits and is THE Steve on The Ballroom Blitz as in "Are You Ready Steve?" (thanks to Michael Duthie in Australia for Sweet info). Re-issued on single a) B side to "Eloise" by Barry Ryan Polydor 2121 333 (NL.) b) with Grunchy Granola Suite on CBS SSP 12032. It can also be found on the double LP "Veronica" Veronica 1975/CBS Special products (NL.1975) and on the double CD "The Veronica Story", BR Music VS3108-2 (NL.1991).
WE LOVE THE PIRATE STATIONS - Trinity Philips 6012735 (NL.1977) A disco version of the Roaring Sixties release,
featuring "Pretty" on the flipside. Also a track on the LP "We
Love the Pirate Stations" Philips 9199236 (NL.1974). The track was also
used in a promo' on Radio Caroline, voiced by Bill
Rollins, for the offshore radio convention Zeezenders 20, held in
Noordwijkerhout, Netherlands in 1978.
WHAT A WORLD - Benny Hill Pye 7N15974 (1965) Benny Hill mentions an uncle who runs a pirate radio station in this comedy song.
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU'RE KIDDING MR WILSON - The Opposition Beacon Records - acetate demo (1970). Recorded at IBC studios in London, by some of the deejays on Radio Northsea International, during the time the British government was jamming the station - Harold Wilson was then the British prime minister. The track uses the backing of Who do you think you're kidding Mr. Hitler by Bud Flanagan, the theme to the 70's BBC TV series Dads Army. The Mr. Wilson version was never officially released although a number of acetate demo copies exist.
