a) LIVERPOOL DRIVE - Chuck Berry Pye Int’ 7N25242 (1964). The flipside of "No particular place to go". Did Raven have a theme on Radio Atlanta?.
b) SOUL SERENADE - Lucas (& Mike Cotton Sound) MGM 1398 (UK. 1968) An almost note for note re-working of the version by Lonnie Mack issued as Beau Dollar & the Coins Fraternity 960 (USA. 1966). Mike Raven, who was managing Mike Cotton at the time, used this track as the theme for his Radio 390 R & B show.
IN THE MOOD - The Spotnicks Track on LP Spotlight on the Spotnicks Polydor 623004 (G.undated) The group are the Swedish Spotnicks, who had several minor instrumental hits in 1962 and ‘63, they should not be confused with the Belgian group the Spoetnicks, spelt with an "e".

WIPE OUT - The Surfaris London HLD9751 (1963) A million seller in 1963, the track was put together by the teenage group of sax player Jim Pash aged 14, eighteen year old drummer Ron Wilson and sixteen year olds, leader and bass guitarist Pat Connolly, lead guitarist Jim Fuller and rhythm guitarist Bob Berry. Wipe out is surfspeak for being knocked off your surfboard. Mark Roman claims that the version of Wipe Out he used came from an LP "Live in Tokyo", although we can find no evidence of this LP. Also used by Paul Alexander and Jim Gordon.

MEMPHIS - Lonnie Mack Stateside SS207 (1963) It is believed to be a slightly different version, re-issued on President, that was used by Rosko. President records owner Ed Kassner was a financial supporter of Caroline, and many of his labels records were plugged on air, including the Equals and Felice Taylor.

b) SURF DELL AMORE - Tutti's Trombones Coliseum 2706 (USA.1969) Tutti Camarata, who died in 2005 aged 91, played an important role in American popular music as an arranger, conductor and music director, whose career stretched from the days of Bing Crosby to the digital age. He arranged and conducted TV shows for artists as diverse as Louis Armstrong and Noel Coward, and went on to become co-founder of Disneyland Records, producing around 300 discs including soundtrack albums of Snow White and The Jungle Book, as well as having great success with two "easy listening" albums - Tutti's Trumpets and Tutti's Trombones (audio required)

Early pressings of the original UK CBS single have "The Kid" on the B
side, later pressings had "The Kid" on the A side. The only problem is
that neither is really "The Kid", due to a pressing error by CBS in
the UK, the theme "The Kid" is to be found on the sides marked
"Holiday". The track also features on
the CD's The Veronica Story BR Music VS 3108-2 (NL.1991) and We Love
the Pirate Stations BR Music 434-2 (NL.1998) and Andre Brasseur Best of

a) GROOVIN’ HIGH - Don Jacoby & the College Allstars Track on LP Swinging Big Sound Decca DL4241 (USA. 1962). Keith's theme on Caroline South. Don "Jake" Jacoby was a college student musician, having graduated from the National Dance Band Camp, Bloomington, Indiana. All the 18 musicians on Groovin' High were college students, with Jacoby playing lead trumpet. Thanks to Keith Skues for info' and audio.

Keith whose full name was Sheridon Keith Street, recalled that this track "was in reference to my name Sheridon".
