July, and a live broadcast was made. This was presented on 227 by Tom
Collins, and at the same time on Radio 355 by Tony Windsor.
On 21st July, the Dutch DJ's on board were told that the station was to
close at 18:00 that day, and their services would not be required after
13:00,as the last five hours were already pre-recorded.
The Dutch staff left the ship and after staying overnight in Harwich flew
to Holland from Southend Airport. While Radio 227 closed down, its sister
station Radio 355 remained on air until fifteen minutes into August 6th
