At a press conference held in
London, on 20th April, it was announced that two radio stations were to
start broadcasting from the ship on the 30th April. Advertising was to be
handled by Radio - Vision Broadcasts (International) Ltd, part of the
Pearl and Dean group of companies.

The studios on board contained the normal complement of turntables and
tape recorders but also contained a 'Carousel' machine. This worked like a
jukebox but played audio tape cartridges, and could be programmed to
provide non-stop automated programmes
