MUTINY ABOARD
On the 9th April 1987 Laser closed at 18.00 and there were more unscheduled breaks in transmission during the week. On Sunday 12th April 1987, Laser left the air at 12.40 after Paul Jackson had announced that due to heavy weather they were going off and would be back as soon as possible. Once again speculation about the well being of the station began to rise. Yet again Laser returned, from Monday 13th until Wednesday 15th the line-up read 06.00 Brandy Lee, 10.00 Paul Jackson, 15.00 D.L. Bogart until closedown at 20.00. The station was off air once again on the 16th and 17th. They were back again on Saturday 18th with a late sign on from Brandy Lee, no explanation was given for the absence of programming and the line up was the same as earlier in the week.
Still more breaks in transmissions followed, on Easter Monday 20th April 1987, D.L. Bogart signed off at 20.00 saying that they would like to continue, but couldn't do so without any more diesel. A party from Offshore Echo's visited the ship the following weekend and found the three deejays aboard, D.L. Bogart, Brandy Lee and Paul Jackson in good spirits, with good supplies of food.
