OFFSHORE CLASSICS VOLUME 57 - Tribute to Peter Clark
Peter Clark died in September 2002, following a fight against a brain tumour. His radio career spanned from UBN through Radio's Trent, Caroline and Aire. This recording is from Radio Caroline in late 1983.

A tribute to the late Joop Verhoof, who died from cancer on 18 July 2002. Joop worked for Dutch Caroline, Atlantis and Mi Amigo. This studio recording of a Joop Verhoof shows on Mi Amigo dates from October 13th 1975.

RADIO NORTHSEA INTERNATIONAL
The final Robin Banks programme, from nine to ten in the evening. This budget price CD is recorded from FM on 30th August 1974.

RADIO CITY
Based on the wartime fort Shivering Sands, City saw much drama, including in an armed takeover of the fort that led to owner Reg Calvert being shot dead. Radio City lost their case, and the station closed at midnight on 9th February 1967.

RADIO HAURAKI
New Zealands Radio Hauraki came on the air in November 1966. Owner David Gapes had continually applied for a broadcasting licence, and when this was eventually granted, the offshore Radio Hauraki closed on 1st June 1970.

LASER 558
Laser 558's unplanned demise on 6th November 1985 took most people by surprise and few recorded it. Thanks to Offshore Echo’s you can now hear that historic recording.

RADIO LONDON
Probably the most successful of the 60's offshore radio stations, London used an anglicised version of American Top 40 radio. The final hour with it's drop-ins from stars of the day, was aired on14th August 1967.

RADIO NORTHSEA INTERNATIONAL
The Sound of Young Europe, RNI brought music from a number of European countries to a Europe wide audience. This recording is of the final English programme on 30th August 1974.
